These are special requests poems, someone sent me the bumper sticker idea.

ONE

Jesus, you have everything some girls

Love to see in another human

You are determined, smart, handsome, kind

But you cannot be trusted with love

Everyone flocks to you, everyone

Else doesn’t know your truth, everyone

Thinks, that humor, that knowledge is all

You’re made up of but I know you’re

An untruth, under that guise you’re an

Asshole, a sham of a gentleman.

TWO

Jesus yes! to casual sex, he

Loves my breasts, my ass, my hips, my face

You do too – but not casually

But you are too serious for me

Everyone has opinions, no one

Else matters, who cares what anyone

Thinks, you want long term commitment and

You’re ready for forever, but I’m

An explorer, curious to learn

Asshole from saint with no strings attached

I Am Calmer Than You

_____________________________________

I am immersed in panic buzzing

Am overwhelmed by to-dos not done

Calmer days ahead they assure me

Than(ks) but I’m making calm today’s goal

You remain waiting for peace to come.

Remember that time long ago when

Your heart was emboldened by gentle

Kindness? Reflect that into your life.

Remember Who You Wanted to Be

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Remember the vivid dreams of youth

Who you did and did not want to be

You followed your heart which was the truth

wanted to fly, teach, cook, surf the sea

To make real change in the voting booth

Be loved, be calm, be true, be free

The Best Things in Life Aren’t Things

____________________________________________________________________________________________

The time has arrived to celebrate

Best time of the year, some disagree

Things like cold, snow and short days dissuade

In fact I will not live without it

Life without winter cannot be great

Aren’t these humid summer months crappy?

Things are best with snowflakes, I’m afraid.

Do You Like to Sing?

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Do you have trouble holding it in?

You sing on the treadmill and trails?

Like, loudly without caring who hears?

To fret not about notes you can’t nail?

Sing simply everywhere you’ve been?

Not All Who Wander are Lost

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Not for the exercise or a goal

All for the release of the static

who knew I would become addicted

Wander til the ache is in my soul

Are the results ever dramatic

lost only in thoughts unrestricted

I’d Rather Be Here Now

____________________________________________________________________________________________

I’d fallen into the trap before

Rather not do it again for sure

Be in the moment and nowhere else

Here, never guessing what is to come

Now, never stressing what’s already done
