I Brake for Interesting Cloud Formations

_____________________________________

I am fascinated by the sky

Brake ferns May also preoccupy

For all of Nature is intriguing

Interesting until fatiguing

Clouds and stars testing imagination

Formations -Constellations – Salvation

(A Bumper Sticker Poem)

Bumper Sticker Poems – a form I created, inspired by cento and golden shovel poetry, with the following guidelines:

  • Using a bumper sticker as inspiration use the words in the bumper sticker as the first word in each line of the poem
  • The theme of the poem may or may not have anything to do with the message of the sticker
  • Title should be the words of the bumper sticker
  • Should be rhymed
  • 9 syllable lines
  • Number of lines depends on number of words on the bumper sticker

Happiness Is

____________________________________

Happiness is a sunny beach

Far from the summer’s white hot reach

Happiness is a muddy trail

With only boulders for guardrail

Tell me what’s wrong with gray skies

Nature’s all lovely in my eyes

*

Happiness is a rainy day

Liquid music tapping away

Happiness is the thundersnow

Ominous green skies all aglow

What’s wrong with an obscured sunrise

Nature’s all lovely in my eyes

*

Happiness is limbs dark and stark

Admiring the subtle bark

Happy is getting to explore

With the loving man I adore

Luckily I’ve come to realize

Nature’s all lovely in our eyes.

Sun Rays Two Ways One Day

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Sunbeams

crepuscular, golden

shining, radiating, awe-inspiring

illusion, perspective, physics, droplets

refracting, projecting, reflecting

multicolored, spectacle

Rainbow

Iron Lace

_____________________________________

Curved neck I gaze up to the cloudy sky

Through lacy gazebo roof most ornate

Dark black wrought iron perforates

The leaden expectant clouds floating by

Their cargo drops, I am no longer dry

A blurry liquid world the rain creates

Dull hues brighten as it precipitates

Best find cover, thunder rumbles nearby
