Sole Laid Bare
I believe myself spontaneous
Finding routine extraneous
Then my ego is bruised
After removing my shoes
My truth revealed is instantaneous

On my morning commute
I stopped at the sign
Fleeting moments captured
*
Just like every damn day
But today was different
Translucent, transcendent
*
Just like every damn day
The sky was bright, so was the sign
Seconds stalled to permanence
*
As the frost slipped down
Revealing alarming red
Temporary forever

Happy Hens on a Warm Spring Day

My hens
Dry dust bathing
Dirt cleanse
*
Slow race
Each warm day to
Same place
*
Sun bath
Happy chickens
Near path
